An unthinkable crime. A rookie cop. A seasoned detective.

When the mutilated body of a two-year-old child is found by Officer Francesca “Frankie” Carbone, it thrusts her into the center of Detective John Mueller’s case as deep-seated emotions over the loss of her own baby brother begin to resurface.

As Mueller grasps at straws, a second child’s body is found. Fearing for the safety of his own grandson, he becomes unhinged in his pursuit of what he now believes is a serial killer.

Embarking on a frantic hunt, Mueller arrests a man he believes is the assailant, but while he’s in custody a third child’s body turns up.

When Frankie is suspended from the force for interfering with Mueller’s case, she conducts her own investigation, which leads her into the killer’s lair forcing her to watch the murder of a fourth child.

Luckily, Mueller is one step behind and arrives on the scene in time to save Frankie from becoming the next victim.
